Moving

I’ve created a new site, Elementary Productions, to host all future developments regarding this app, as well as others. I will no longer be updating this page, so please change your bookmarks.

MPEG4 Library

While my GUI program certainly works, I simply do not have enough time to work on it these days. Therefore, I’m curious to know if there are any Java programmers out there who would be interested in my MPEG4 Library to implement an officially sanctioned graphical interface to Tagger’s backend.

Still Working

I’ve finished work on my tag parser, but have to update the GUI to reflect these changes. Unfortunately I’m extremely busy right now, but I hope to get a new version of Tagger out in the next few weeks.

Progress Being Made

I’m making a ton of progress on my own MPEG-4 parser, and am able to read and set all tags as of now. I hope to include this new code in the next alpha build in the next few days.

XP in the Works

That’s right, working cross-platform support will soon be coming to Tagger, as I’ve decided to forsake AtomicParsley and build my own MPEG-4 parser. In addition to Mac OS X and Linux support, files should load faster and the program should be less memory-intensive and occupy less space on your hard drive. I’ll also be able to update the code myself, so any new iTunes features or bugs in Tagger will be easy to address. Stay tuned.

Alpha Release: 4.0b20070913

This build adds support for turning files into ringtones (under the Kind field) for the iPhone. I don’t have an iPhone to test on so I can’t be sure, but you may also need to rename the file extension to .m4r.

Alpha Release: 4.0b20070912

This build fixes a few minor bugs.

Alpha Release: 4.0b20070906

This build fixes a bug that caused changes to a file to be discarded if a new file was opened. It also adds drag and drop file opening to the file list on the side, and allows for opening multiple files at once via this method as well as the file chooser. Feedback is appreciated.

New: Tagger 4: Long Description b1.0.2

So apparently that bug wasn’t fixed, but now it should be.

Alpha Release: 4.0b20070901

Main change in this build: if you make changes to a file and try to close it, now Tagger will actually save it if you choose that option. Also, I realize that in my last post on the alpha release I realized I didn’t explain what the changes to Save As and Clear To were. For both of these actions, Tagger will cease to operate on the original file and continue operations on the newly created file, similar to the functionality in Microsoft Word. Also, the alpha builds will now check for new updates in a separate release system from the non-alpha builds.
